Parts Tracking
A key part of the digital transformation of the aviation industry is the shift to digital parts-tracking from the paper-based practice that it is today. By transforming the process to a secure digital platform, many of the information limits that are currently creating problems can be overcome. Often data entered in paper forms is incomplete; digital entries might be able to prevent this. For airworthiness purposes, having part data in a digital format means that the entire history of the part - from birth - can be readily accessed. The goal is to solve the problem of: “How to create a federated view of the life of an Aircraft while its systems are siloed?”
We are developing the consensus rules that will ensure that all relevant information about parts will to all subscribing to the rules. Please enter your email below to download an issue paper describing the Parts use case and a request to join us in the IDCA to help write these rules.
