William Voss works with organizations who wish to introduce new technologies into the international aviation regulatory system. He has more than 40 years’ experience in aviation operations and regulation and served as an executive in both the FAA and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and served as the President and CEO of the Flight Safety Foundation, an independent non-profit organization that supports international aviation safety activities. He joined the Federal Aviation Administration as an as an air traffic controller where he held several operational and staff positions and eventually had executive responsibility over the research, development, and acquisition of many of the FAA’s air traffic control automation and surveillance systems. After some time working internationally, he returned to the FAA where he was an executive in safety oversight of the Air Traffic Organization and served as an internal safety and regulatory advisor for several modes within the Department of Transportation. He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma, and a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance Management from Lewis University. He holds licenses as an Air Traffic Controller, Airline Transport Pilot and Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.
